JJP PROGRAM We invite you to come and join us for a new experience in spirituality of Jesus among the poor February 11-13, 2005. Participating during the weekend will involve:
We will also hear from and witness the story of Father Ben Beltran, a well known priest/activist who has lived among the poor in the garbage slum community of Smokey Mountain for the past 20 years, and the youth whom he has empowered to spread a message of hope through dance. Whether you love or hate the Church, this will not be a comfortable or ordinary conference- it is a learning experience. We will learn, reflect, repent, serve, and live together within the Tenderloin community. Begin the experience now by exploring with friends and classmates the relationship between Jesus and the poor. The Tenderloin is a 35-block section of San Francisco 300 times more crowded than the rest of the city and hosting 10,000 homeless.
